"Work hard for what you want because it won't come to you without a fight. You have to be strong and courageous and know that you can do anything you put your mind to. If somebody puts you down or criticizes you, just keep on believing in yourself and turn it into something positive." -Leah LaBelle October was a catch up month. I’m not sure how to describe how I’m feeling, but is it possible to burn out from being overly inspired? I put a hold on commission pieces to work on records I wanted to make and prepare for projects for 2019. I have two big shows coming up and wanted to make sure I have enough pieces ready. Thank you to everyone who has been patient and understanding. Since my inbox is filling up with requests, I’ll be starting commissions before November. As I stated in my last blog, all commission requests are due November 15th. I will not be accepting anymore until after the New Year. The Pineapple Company I submitted a Harry Potter inspired record (Slytherin) for the upcoming group show, Fandemonium. The show is based on movie and comic fan art. It will be at The Pineapple Company, November 2nd. This will be up the whole month. Here are the other Harry Potter records if anyone is interested in purchasing. Please send me an email through my contact page. Chalkboard Vinyl Records I had a stack of special records that I didn’t want to just draw on. I finally found this cute idea and turned them in chalk boards. There are magnets on the back of them so you can hang them on the fridge. These are particular records are a limited. I have The Doors, Billy Joel, Jimi Hendrix, Harley Quinn, Elvis, Simon and Garfunkel, Tom Waits, and Pink Floyd. I will also make a few more vinyl chalk boards that are completely covered. New Animals Records I sold most of my animal pieces at an event. So I have been taking time to create some more. I plan to have a few more done for an event in December that I’m finalizing the details with soon. Guitar Series As much as everyone loved my mannequins, I’ll be taking a break from them for a bit. I sold 2 of them and need to make more room in my work space. I definitely plan to return to them towards the end of 2019 but in the meantime I’m planning a guitar series. Many local musicians have approached me with this idea and I’ve decided to give it a try. I’m very fortunate that local music shop, Allentown Music, donated these awesome guitars. I’m planning to have one done for the WNY Guitar show in November. Guitar Pick Earrings I go back and forth with my music inspired jewelry collection. Its very time consuming and it’s hard to focus on at the moment. I received a Guitar Pick maker from a friend as a gift. After playing around with it, I made a few sets of earrings with it. It will be a fun thing to sell at the Guitar show and I’ll have them available for purchase soon. Muse Jar As I announced last month, I’ll be the featured artist at The Muse Jar in East Aurora in January. I’ll be getting down to my roots with this show and only submitting my abstract pattern pieces. There will be some old and some new records. I won’t reveal the new records until its closer to the event. 200 Records!!! I have officially created 200 records over the past 2 and half years. I can’t wait to make 200 more! For Thanksgiving, I’ll be traveling to the Mediterranean to visit the small Island of Malta. I busted my ass for months, just so my records alone could pay for this trip. I’m very excited to experience another culture and see another part of the world. I can only thank my customers and supporters for this opportunity. Thank you all for believing in me and helping me make one of my biggest dreams come true. I'm already planning my next trip for next year!

Infuse your life with action. Don't wait for it to happen. Make it happen. Make your own future. Make your own hope. Make your own love. And whatever your beliefs, honor your creator, not by passively waiting for grace to come down from upon high, but by doing what you can to make grace happen... yourself, right now, right down here on Earth. -Bradley Whitford Hello everyone! September has been my busiest month yet with all the events and new ideas. Even though, I vendor at Mr. Goodbar for Vinyl Night once a week, I worked my first big event at Chalkfest last weekend. I have been afraid to participate in these events and this experience really opened my eyes on the opportunities that are out there. I met so many new faces who were interested in my art and original ideas. Many people recognized me from Music Is Art (September 10th Blog) and they finally had an chance to introduce themselves and take a closer look at what I do. I was very overwhelmed with compliments and words of encouragement. I decided that I’m going to make it a point to be a vendor at more events, no matter how big or small. September Commission Records Buffalo Love Records I have been making a series of Buffalo records to sell at vending events. They were a big hit at Chalkfest and I can’t wait to make more. Instead of overwhelming everyone with Buffalo record posts; I’ll be creating a separate gallery on the website for you to check them out. Purrfect Café: One of the Buffalo records has been chosen to be hung up at the new cat café, Purrfect, on Hertel Avenue. Please stop by to check out their gallery and support the cats! The Rise of the Tangled Rock Goddess I announced on Facebook that I canceled my mannequin art show in October at Gypsy Parlor. My records are my top priority right now and with vending events and the new Buffalo Love series, I can’t commit to finish the mannequins I wanted for the show. I plan to reschedule the show in the springtime. WNY Guitar Show I’ve been invited to participate in this event on November 18th 2018. More Details coming soon. ![]()
MuseJar I applied to be a featured artist at MuseJar gallery a few months ago. They finally emailed me back and invited me to do a month long show in January 2019. We a still working out the details and I will have more information soon. Commission Records After the New Year, I’m going to tone down the amount of commission work I do. I really want to focus more on vending events and projects I enjoy. I am not saying I won’t be doing anymore but they won’t be a top priority. Since the holidays are approaching, I’ll take one last call for commission records. The deadline is November 15th. I will be going to the Mediterranean for Thanksgiving and I will be gone a whole week. I will not be taking any work with me on this trip. I highly recommend that you contact me ASAP to make sure I have enough time to get them done before by Christmas. As always, thank you for stopping by! xoxox |
