This is the record that started it all. I made this back in April 2016. I've always been a doodler and discovered zentangling years ago. It took me many years to find the right canvas and materials to bring these creations to life. I used to make these designs on paper, canvas, dry wall, and wood. Back when I was in college, I used to blaster these designs on my dorm room walls, using just sharpies and sketchbook paper. One of my closest friends told me one day, "Hey, if you just clean these up a bit, you might actually have something here!"
It wasn't until I was learn how to DJ with records, I felt the connection. I never collected records nor play them. In fact that night, may of been the first time I really held on to one. I had the strong desire to create art again after years being uninspired. I just knew that I had to figure out how to turn that record into a piece of art. The picture above was my first attempt. I painted the background with white acrylic paint and filled it with black sharpie markers. I wound up creating 15 more records using the same materials (See Tangled Black and White). Little did I know, close to two years later, my records have became my true passion in life. The possibilities are endless and it drives me to create more and more each day. I'm so happy to share this journey with you all and thank you for stopping by.
