“I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes. Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You're doing things you've never done before, and more importantly, you're doing something.”
- Neil Gaiman
Happy New Year everyone!
I really hope you all had a great time during the holiday season. December was my busiest month yet. I have a lot of down time to catch up on records and create some new series. For the month of January, I’ve been creating positive quote records to help set the intensions for the New Year. I am getting a few requests for other themes, such as horror. I’m currently creating them and share them soon in my next blog. Here are January’s quote records (All are available on my Etsy for $30):
My Muse series has been hanging up at MuseJar in East Aurora for the month as part of their monthly featured artist wall. 20 brand new records are on display and for sale. I’m currently looking for a new home for them in the city of Buffalo. If you like a closer look, I have created a separate section under my Gallery section.
I’ve been updating my website. I’ve decided to keep my gallery section minimal and only have my best work on display. I’m going to use my blog and Instagram (@tangledrecords) to post the other projects I’ve been working on. I have also updated my Etsy store. In the next few days, the Muse series will be up for sale. They will be $40 a piece.
I have gotten a lot questions on why I’ve been selling off the mannequins and why I’m not having the art show in the spring time. The truth is, I don’t have the room to store them and I need to make room for new projects. I’m using this down time know to create as many records I can to sell at events and festivals over the summer time. So far Dolores, Karen O, and Alison have been sold. I have 3 more looking for homes.
There is a new art center opening up in the Buffalo area by UB South. This is a very exciting project that will allow artists to rent studios and retail space to sell art and for a low fee. I’m very honored to be asked to be part of this and can’t wait to see how this program flourishes. The grand opening is Feb 10th and I’ll be setting up a pop up shop with several other amazing local artists. I’ll keep you all posted on this experience.
I'm participating in another group show at The Pineapple Company called Love Notes. This piece with be up for the month of February 2019. Please stop by if you are in the Allentown area and show some support to all the participating artists.
Thanks for stopping by everyone. There are some more updates coming soon. As always, thank you all for the support and I can’t wait to see where this New Year takes me. I have 2 major trips planned this year and making plans to branch outside of Buffalo. Here’s to making art and to making stuff happen! XOXOXO
